International Delegation in Eberswalde

From September 19 to September 30, a international delegation visits Eberswalde in the frame of the „Transformation for a Sustainable Future in South-East-Asia“ (TranSEA) competence centre. As part of the international networking activities of the Competence Centre, about 20 international scientists and academic staff from Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam will be visiting the Department of Forest & Environment, the Department of Sustainable Economy and HNEE.

The tour – co-organised by Kevin Beiler, it4forest enthusiast – includes an introduction to HNEE study programmes, several workshop to identify synergies with partner graduate programs and networking opportunities to explore opportunities for research collaboration.

Next to academic collaboration, the Asian guest are familiarising themselves with administrative structure and practices related to internationalisation. At the Universities’ International office, they meet the Welcome and Buddy team. The Student Department will inform among others on preconditions and documents for admission and enrolment. Beyond theoretical discussion, the delegation is attending excursions to Grumsin” beech forest and UNESCO World Heritage Site as well as Brodowin eco-village to experience sustainability in practice.

TranSEA was founded at Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development in 2019, with the aim to promote the further development and expansion of academic partnerships in Southeast Asia and network the various activities and projects. TranSEA is supported by the BMBF, through the DAAD HAW-International Programme (Modul B).
