it_team4_FOREst 7 July 2023Gulam Mohiuddin, Research Associate in the Build4People Project and Prof. Dr Jan-Peter Mund, presented latestest research results on “Urban Green Infrastructure at the GI Science – an International Forum for Geoinformatics 2023 (GI_Salzburg) at the University of Salzburg, Austria (04 – 06 July 2023).
The study analysed urban area expansion using open-source satellite images using the cloud platform Google Earth Engine in the B4P Project area in Phnom Penh. The study considered data from 2013 to 2021 and found consistent urban growth in the Chbar Ampov district (Phnom Penh). The results from the study will help make informed decisions about land use and promote sustainable urban development, management, and planning. The study is accepted for publication in the upcoming volume of the peer-reviewed Journal of GI_Forum, Salzburg, Austria. The full article will be shared after the publication.
