The TreeDigitalTwins project team was part of the KWF expo in Schwarzenborn, Hessen. The expo area showcased complete work chains in real-world settings, featuring over 30 demonstrations of various forestry operations – including the projects TreeDigitalTwins and ADAPT-Wald-Holz.

TreeDigitalTwins aims at innovation in AI-based methods for the analysis of 4D point clouds. By utilizing VR glasses, the TreeDigitalTwins project can create a more effective and engaging tool for forest monitoring, assessment, and management, bridging the gap between abstract data and practical understanding of forest ecosystems. With the VR glasses user can experience a digital twin produced by point clouds.

The KWF event #KWF2024, organised by the Kuratorium für Waldarbeit und Forsttechnik (KWF), aims to advance the forestry sector by providing a comprehensive platform for knowledge transfer and practical demonstrations of the latest technologies and techniques. It emphasizes new and proven working methods that focus on environmentally friendly technology use, energy wood production, logistics chains, and forest protection. Additionally, the event addressed current challenges in forestry through expert lectures and discussion forums covering topics such as climate change, silviculture, wood resources, and more. By facilitating networking and knowledge exchange among forestry professionals, researchers, and industry representatives, the KWF-event promotes innovation and advancement in forestry practices, combining theoretical insights with hands-on experiences.
