From October 8 to 9, experts from various disciplines met met to discuss challenges and solutions for decision-making under uncertainty in forest and wood research. Climate change, social transformations, new technological innovations and changing values have a significant influence on developments in forest and wood research. These dynamics present researchers with complex challenges, as established assumptions and certainties are increasingly being questioned especially in forest and wood research, which deals with long-term transformations.

It4Forest enthusiasts from the Tree Digital Twins and the ADApt Wald Holz project attended the 2nd Regulus Status conference in Freiburg. As an important location for forest and wood research, Freiburg offered the ideal setting for scientific scientific exchange within the REGULUS network. The German acronym REGULUS stands for “Regional innovation groups for a climate-friendly forestry and timber industry”.
