As researchers, we often celebrate academic success through conference participation and publications. But as a teacher, it4forest enthusiast Gulam Mohiuddin finds particular joy in seeing students succeed and develop strong academic potential. He is pleased to share that several research works developed by students at Fachhochschule Eberswalde under his co-supervision have been accepted for presentation at AGIT Conference 2026, one of the long-standing conferences in GIScience and Geoinformatics.

The accepted contributions cover a diverse range of geospatial and Earth observation topics, including:
• spatio-temporal monitoring of mangrove dynamics
• urban land surface temperature hotspot persistence modelling
• community forest monitoring using multi-temporal Landsat data
• satellite-based forest phenology analysis using Sentinel-2 NDVI time series

He writes on Linked-in: “What I find especially encouraging is the interdisciplinary and international nature of these works, which combine remote sensing, environmental monitoring, climate analysis, and machine learning in applied geospatial research. It is rewarding to see students and young researchers transform their work into conference contributions and engage with the broader GIScience community. Congratulations to Rhythem Kaushal, Taisiia Kalynych, Mahbubul Alam, and Ayomide Akinfasoye. Looking forward to the discussions and presentations at AGIT2026 in Salzburg.”
