Virtual Forest consortium members and interested stakeholders met in Palencia for a dissemination conference. The conference – organised by iuFOR, and the Universidad de Valladolid – marked the completion of the VirtualForests project implementation phase.

During the one-day event project partners, students, and professionals reviewed the different tools under development by the project.

Among others Prof. José Reque Kilchenmann, UVa-iuFOR. Presented a Marteloscopes virtual tour. Colleagues from Vietnam, namely PhD candidate Doan Thi Nhat Minh together with Prof. Vu Van Manh, VNU-HUS, introduced International Learning Locations in non-European forest ecosystems: Forest data from Vietnam – a tropical example. Prof. Felipe Bravo, UVa-iuFOR discussed how machine learning can help predict events in forests.

Stefan Reder, it4forest enthusiast, showcased Virtual Forests twins based on Marteloscope point cloud data. The forest twin developed in the project models the Marteloscope in Eberswalde.
